Sara B. Ewell is the Director of the Doctor of Education and Teaching Professor in the Graduate School of Education. Dr. Ewell’s research interests include social justice, educational leadership, urban education, teacher preparation and retention, and qualitative research. Previously, Dr. Ewell taught K-12 students in urban and suburban public school districts, taught at Stonehill College, and worked as a research assistant at University of North Carolina and the Center for Teaching Quality, a research-based teacher advocacy organization in North Carolina.

Cherese Childers-McKee is a faculty member in the EdD program in the Graduate School of Education at Northeastern University in Boston, MA. She serves as the research lead for the dissertation in practice and the faculty lead for the Curriculum, Teaching, Learning, and Leadership concentration. She teaches and designs courses in qualitative methods and action research. Her research interests include action-oriented and community engaged research, social justice education, teacher leadership, and curriculum development.

Joe McNabb is a full-time faculty member in the Graduate School of Education. Prior to joining the faculty, he completed an 11 year term as president of Labouré College. This position followed a 17 year tenure as professor and dean of faculty. He served as a commissioner, a six-year term, on the New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE). Before serving as commissioner, he chaired, or served as a site visitor, for many accreditation teams throughout the United States including in in the New England area, and several in Europe.

 

Kimberly Nolan is an Associate Teaching Professor in the Graduate School of Education. Her research interests include school climate, experiential learning, action research and student-centered schools. Dr. Nolan is a leader within Northeastern’s Network of Experiential Learning Educators (NExT). She is the lead faculty for the EdD program in the Southeast. Dr. Nolan has more than 20 years of experience in K-12 education, included experience as a middle school science teacher, K-12 assistant principal and alternative high school principal. Additionally, she has worked in the community college system as a faculty member and administrator.
