However, there have been a lot of concerns about how we teach social justice and diversity, equity, and inclusion. Are we teaching doctoral students “about” diversity? Or are we supporting them in recognizing that they, too, are part of the world’s diversity? This session explains a campus-wide initiative to increase awareness on include diversity, equity, and inclusion and how this impacted the curriculum and offering of an Ed.D. program. Nilufer Guler, PhD, is director of the EdD program and associate professor of education at Rockhurst University. Her research interests include teacher education, ELL education, and internationalization of teacher education. She was a Global Teacher Education fellow in 2017-18. Her book At School in the World: Developing Globally Engaged Teachers was published in 2023.
