CPED June Challenge Friday Learning to Improve Your Own System - Scholarly Practitioners
Date: Friday, June 2, 2023 Time: 1:00 - 2:00 PM ET This program will help people to start conversations about how to identify problems in the education environment, in order to set a path toward manageable change by understanding the depth of the problem and the data necessary to measure progress, using incremental improvement. A Notetaking Guide activity will help participants to analyze a problem they are grappling with. Facilitators: Jacqueline Hawkins
Dr. Jacqueline Hawkins’ research focus has been on prevention and intervention work for educators and parents who engage with students across the education pipeline. She leads a doctoral program for Professional Leadership – Special Populations in her role as Associate Professor in the College of Education at the University of Houston. Her lifelong focus has been on improving outcomes for students along the education pipeline.
Monica Martens
Dr. Monica Martens translates Improvement Science to the development of higher education curriculum and professional development, for pre-service and in-service educators and administrators. She is a manager of program initiatives at the College of Education at the University of Houston where she teaches professional writing. She also co-leads the Online/Hybrid CIG for CPED.
