Tune in for our April synchronous session led by Dr. Rhia Moreno of Augusta University. She notes that there is a tendency in graduate-level instruction to situate and measure student learning primarily through written production. In this session, we will discuss multimodal pedagogy, specifically in the online context, as a means to stimulate student engagement and as a foundation for “transforming consciousness” (Eisner, 2002, p. 1) through various types of reflective work including arts-based, embodiment, video, and artifact-connections. This session will present examples that can be incorporated into any classroom while also opening up space for participants’ ideas and collaborative discussion.
