Coaching Ed.D. students in the development of a problem of practice

Show and Tell about the TAMU EdD process for helping students deconstruct their problems into local context and then reconstruct the problem as a formal problem of practice statement that invites investigation. Student cases will be used in example to showcase the process and product.

Presenters:

Dr. Shaun Hutchins is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Teaching, Learning and Culture at Texas A&M University. He also serves as Associate Director for Evaluation with the Texas A&M Education Research Center. Shaun graduated with a doctorate in educational research methodology from Colorado State University. He began working with the EdD at TAMU in 2016-17. Prior to joining the faculty at Texas A&M University, Shaun worked in research and evaluation in public schools. Shaun’s teaching and practice focuses on research, evaluation, and continuous improvement in schools. He remains actively involved in grant funded projects within the university and local school districts.
