Call for CPED Senior Fellow/ Guest Editor Impacting Education
Due Monday, March 5th

Extended - Friday, March 16

CPED and Impacting Education: Journal on Transforming Practice will again host a special themed volume around the upcoming convening theme. As a first step we are calling for a Senior Fellow to lead and guide the Writing Fellows and, for this volume, act as a guest editor.

The June 2018 convening theme is Evidence of Impact: Measuring Change and Changing our Measures which seeks to offer evidence of CPED’s impact on changing the way we prepare practitioners and how their practice is changed as a result. Responsibilities of the selected Senior Fellow and a timeline for their work are below.

Responsibilities include:

  • Work with the CPED Executive Director to develop the call for Fellows, in particular, the Senior Fellow develops a concept paper to guide aspiring Fellows
  • Review applications and select 6-8 Fellows
  • Conduct a collaborative peer review Seminar during the June convening in Tallahassee, FL
  • Support writing Fellows in developing their drafts to be submitted to Impacting Education one year from the original Seminar date
  • Serve as the guest editor for IE, guiding manuscripts through peer review.
  • Write the opening for themed section.



March: Develop call and solicit applications

April: Select Fellows; guide them in preparing early manuscripts for Convening Seminar June 13-15th    Attend CPED Convening

At June convening: Guide presentations and discussions of draft papers at Seminar.                                    Provide feedback and constructive critique to others Fellows.

Summer-Fall: Support Writing Fellows and put manuscripts through Peer Review
                       Develop Introduction to themed section

Winter-Spring: Revisions and publication

June 2019: Publish issue with themed section

1.       One-page, single-spaced letter of application that includes

a.       Overview of your scholarship and editorial experience.

b.       Plan for guiding Writing Fellows to completion of project

2.       Current CV

3.       One published paper or manuscript
