Announcing the 2019 Dissertation in Practice Award!
Call for Submissions

The Carnegie Project on the Education Doctorate (CPED) invites submissions from member institutions for the 2019 outstanding Dissertation in Practice Award. This prestigious award is given to EdD graduate(s) whose DiP shows evidence of scholarly endeavors in impacting a complex problem of practice, and aligns with CPED Framework. Please share with graduates of your CPED-influenced EdD programs. We are looking forward to seeing the great work your graduates have accomplished!

 

Eligibility
Submitting institution will be from an implementing or experienced programs CPED member (definition of these phases may be found here). The Dissertation in Practice must have been successfully defended prior to the submission deadline, and must have been defended between June 1, 2018 and May 31, 2019.

Submission Guidelines 
The EdD graduate must: 1) submit the nomination letter and synopsis as one pdf file through the online submission process and 2) be able to attend the October 2019 CPED convening if selected as the award recipient.
 

Nominees are encouraged to review the CPED Framework © for guidance in preparing the submission.

Finalists
Finalists will be notified in mid-August and asked to submit their full DiP for review. Finalists will have their full DiP added to CPED's DiP Database.

The author(s) of the winning DiP will be invited to attend the October 2019 CPED convening at University of South Carolina where they will be recognized. The recipient(s) will be awarded a plaque and check for $1,000. The recipient(s) will be encouraged to submit an article for publication based on their DiP to the CPED journal, Impacting Education: Journal on Transforming Professional Practice.

Deadline:
 The completed submission must be uploaded to the CPED website no later than 11:59 PM EST on June 30, 2019. Finalists will be notified in mid-August; winners will be notified in mid-September.
