Impacting Education: Journal on Transforming Professional Practice
December 1, 2017
The Carnegie Project on the Education Doctorate is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Stephanie J. Jones of Texas Tech University as the second Editor in Chief of Impacting Education: Journal on Transforming Professional Practice (IE). Dr. Jones is an Associate Professor and program coordinator for the Higher Education EdD program at Texas Tech University where she has been a faculty member since 2008.
Dr. Jones brings to the journal many years of experience having edited and reviewed for several educational journals. Her own scholarship and professional work with the EdD will offer the journal vision and support as it grows and flourishes. When asked about her vision for the journal, Dr. Jones replied, “As a relatively new journal, I believe it should stay true to its original focus and scope, with a broadening of its scope to include evidence of improved practice as this new knowledge is generated.” Dr. Jones will assume the Editor in Chief position on January 1, 2018 and will serve for three years. Dr. Jill A. Perry, the current editor, will assume the position of Founding Editor.
IE is an open-source, peer-reviewed journal that is published on a rolling basis. IE provides a forum for academics and practitioners to publish scholarly articles that meaningfully contribute to the improved preparation of PK-20 educational leaders through examination of the development of, redesign, and improvement of professional preparation programs as well as the outcomes of such programs including the skills, knowledge, dispositions, and impact of EdD program graduates.
