This session will provide an overview and seek feedback on a process used by one university to re-envision a series of inquiry courses aligned with Improvement Science and the dissertation in practice process. Content from traditional researc h courses along with new content was reorganized and sequenced to support s tudents’ in completion of school improvement projects over the course of th eir three-year EdD program.

Brad Bizzel l is the coordinator of the master’s and doctoral program in educational leadership at Radford University. Prior to his work in higher e ducation, he worked for 25 years in public schools as teacher, principal an d school improvement coordinator and continues to work with a consortium of rural public school districts on leadership development and school improve ment initiatives.
Amanda Bozack
Amanda Bozack is the director of the School of Teacher Education and Leadership at Radford University. Her research in terests include the development, support, and retention of new teachers. Sh e is the author of numerous articles and book chapters on the topic and has been awarded state and federal funds to assist teacher development.
