CPED February Wednesday WebinarCultivating an Effective Online Mentoring Relationship Through the DiP JourneyDate: Wednesday, February 19, 2025 Time: 1:00 - 2:00 PM ET This presentation illuminates how a fruitful relationship was initiated, cultivated, and extended beyond the earned doctorate in an online format. The presenters will provide a framework that outlines comprehensive training as the cornerstone of mentor professional development, the delicate balance of the mentor/mentee match, and how the intersection of mentors and mentees encourages socio-emotional intelligence, growth, support, and collaboration. This presentation aims to share how this match between mentor and doctoral candidate humanized the online experience through both personal and professional investment in the relationship that led from mentorship to colleagueship and friendship after the dissertation was defended and the degree was earned. Our actionable overall learning goals for this session include participants reflecting on their own current and previous mentor and mentee experiences and the immediate application of mentor and mentee practices shared in the presentation that resonates with their practice.
