Call for #CPED23 Convening Workshop Proposals*
*Note: Call for learning exchanges will be available in February.
The CPED Convening Planning Committee invites proposals for Workshops for the #CPED23 Convening which will be hosted by the University of West Florida October 4-6th.
As part of the CPED pre-convenings activities, we offer two – four workshops which last two hours each and will take place the morning of Wednesday October 4th.
Workshops will address the questions below and beyond but offer participants more time to learn and collaborate around ideas. Presenters should be prepared to offer deeper interactive learning content that supports participants in the development of their dissertations in practice.
Topics for pre-convening workshops might include:

how to design an EdD programs
- to reflect the needs of educational professionals and practice
- that are grounded in the CPED Principles
- with learning outcomes, curriculum, and assessments that prepare equity-minded, transformational change agents;
- that exemplify the CPED definition of the EdD as “The professional doctorate in education prepares educators for the application of appropriate and specific practices, the generation of new knowledge, and for the stewardship of the profession.”
- how to define and prepare graduates for scholarly practice;
- how to define and address problems of practice
- how EdD graduates impact professional practice;
- how their EdD program
Proposals for workshops should include:
- Title
- Facilitator names
- Abstract (to be used in the program)
- Description of learning outcomes/goals
- Description of content & takeaways
- Engagement activities
- Format and process

Proposals are double blind and peer reviewed by CPED member faculty and CPED staff. Selections are made in order to provide an engaging, interactive learning experience for our diverse community. Space is limited, so we may not be able to accept all proposals.
DEADLINES
Proposals due: March 20, 2023
Facilitators/Presenters notified: March 31, 2023
All workshop facilitators are expected to register for the convening. Workshops take place on the morning of Wednesday, October 4th.
