Join SIG 168 and the Carnegie Project on the Education Doctorate (CPED) for a co-presented session which aligns with AERA’s overall theme: Knowledge to Action: Achieving the Promise of Equal Educational Opportunity. Focusing on equity, knowledge and action in terms of Doctoral Education across disciplines and degrees (the PhD and EdD), this session will be framed, around these overarching questions:

● What are the pathways to achieving equal educational opportunity? Where and how does doctoral education fit into these pathways?
● How can the knowledge and scholarship of doctoral faculty and PhD and EdD students be transformed into public will, engaging practices, and responsive policies?
● How can Doctoral Education across disciplines and degrees develop leaders who:

○ promote social justice
○ use collaboration and partnerships to find meaningful solutions to problems of practice
○ build a knowledge base from practical and systematic inquiry
○ generate and transform education from the ground up

This 90-minute, Ignite session aims to be interactive and engaging by providing an opportunity for 4 speakers to make quick presentations that spark interest and action toward the session’s focus and questions.
