Design Phase: Developing and Designing

Program: School-wide Education Doctoral Program in Educational Leadership 

 Current Mission/Goals: The goal of our EdD program is to graduate leaders who will serve their communities, prompt societal change, and promote innovative advocacy through shared visioning and collaborative action. More specifically, the focus was and continues to be on strengthening graduates’ capacity to:

  • Create a widely shared vision for learning
  • Develop a school culture and instructional program conducive to student learning and educator development
  • Ensure high quality management of the organization, operation, and resources for a safe, efficient, and effective learning environment
  • Collaborate with faculty and community members, responding to diverse community interests and needs and mobilizing community resources
  • Act with integrity, fairness, and in an ethical manner
  • Understand, respond to, and influence the political, social, legal, and cultural contexts.

 Expected Program Outcomes:

To advance the program at a systemic-level and to cultivate improvements within individual courses and student cohort conversations.

 Expected Student Outcomes:

Upon completion of the program students should appropriately apply education and leadership practices, generate knowledge, and advance the field of education.
