As I am planning for the upcoming convenings, I have been reading through the evaluations from October 2007 as well as our town meeting in February 2008 (at AACTE). Many comments have asked us to check assumptions about projects and to think out of the box on some of our processes. I realize we have been quick to accept what seem to be good ideas to move forward. Perhaps this acceptance has come at the expense of different view points and voices. I appreciate this challenge to our thinking because this project is meant to be anything but "in the box" or a replica of the past. We are developing new strategies, new ideas and most of all new thinking about what doctoral education is and can be to prepare those who will educate our future leaders and citizens.
