We,the members of CPED, believe the Definition of a Professional Doctorate inEducation adheres to the definition of the professional doctorate provided bythe Council of Graduate Schools TaskForce Report on the Professional Doctorate (2007):

 "...a professional doctoral degree shouldrepresent preparation for the potential transformation of [a] field ofprofessional practice, just as the Ph.D. represents preparation for thepotential transformation of the basic knowledge in a discipline." (p. 6)
